A new weekly feature from Lace on Race!
We are going to share some of our favorite songs. As many of you know, it has been music and song that has brought liberation embedded with joy. From songs on the plantation rich with hidden meaning, to the folk songs of the sixties, to neosoul and bluegrass melodies, it has been story through music and lyric that has stirred us to feel, and then to act.
We will continue this rich tradition.
The very first selection is, hands down, Lace’s favorite gospel song. Don’t let that throw you. It talks about deep change and transformation; about the urgency of the journey and a reminder to keep our eyes locked forward to the prize: when we are all, all of us, finally free.
Enjoy.
