Because Facebook basically holds you all as my followers hostage, I have to pay to boost to have any hope of your seeing posts. Anything you actually view, assume I paid for.
The latest post, the thank you letter, was not initially approved. I wrote an appeal, and they seem to have changed their minds.
Two lessons here. That algorithm they use is designed to preemptively silence. Two months later, their default position is that this is a profane, racist space. I spend almost as much time fighting them as I do providing content. Appealing is a drain.
Which brings me to the second lesson, this one for you. Assume you are not seeing everything here, and that you will have to make a concerted effort to come here intentionally without the prompt of a preview in your feed.
Also, that likes and shares are crucial. Facebook is not always an ally, even as they take pretty substantial sums. One reason we may migrate to a website (but that has its own issues).
Meantime, thank you for your efforts on the community’s behalf. I appreciate you all, and am doing my best to bring you content that you can use–and actually access.
Best, Lace on Race
