Expectations in This Space
As we continue to have conversations that inevitably challenge and shape us, we want to explain some of the expectations in this space.
We prioritize relational ethics as we engage on this page (check the pinned post to dig into our relational ethics series).
In regards to interactions, this means we treat our comments as though they are spoken words (cannot and should not be deleted), we recognize that deleting problematic posts erases more than our words (violent, especially with historical implications), and we understand that an error does not mean throwing out an entire person.
If we post something harmful, the post stays and discussion underneath works through understanding, apology, and amends. We need to be able to hold the tension of our mistakes without bolting away from them or hiding them.
How do you see these expectations playing out in conversations here? What area is new/challenging to you?
