April Weekly Ask

In order for a garden to thrive, plants are buried next to each other in a style called companion planting. As each plant grows and does its personal plant-thing best, it protects and encourages the surrounding plants to grow and do their personal plant-thing best. Each plant should be watered, fertilized, and kept carefully to maintain full community health.

Community health. We feature teachers, artists, organizations, visionaries, speakers, etc with the purpose of encouraging each to grow and be fully equipped to do their calling. With that in mind, financial engagement is part of community health, your internal commitment, and your outward praxis.

We are highlighting a direct action this week, as well as our April individual and organization.

We are continuing to feature the Direct Assistance Fund. DAF is focused on fundraising to support direct giving to get resources into the hands of black and brown moms who need housing, clothing, food, diapers, etc. The asks are curated by black women organizers with on the ground frontline experience with the populations of folks most impacted by systemic and institutionalized racism.

DAF works to make income redistribution and reparations a reality for black and brown families around the country.
