We’re going to stipulate that this is true for most black people with white Friends. The Rules of Engagement and of continued quasi acceptance are harsh and enforced brutally.

As someone who has lost more white quasi friends, including a mentor/spiritual director, including even an administrator here at LoR, including friends I’ve known since high school and even Jr high (that’s over 40 years) over the last 4 years that I can count, I can attest to the truth of this.

And even the ones who have more or less stuck around love pictures of Tika love cute little quips but are incredibly silent at the work that I do. That’s not friendship. At best, it is fair weather Association. Locate yourself in this and comment. Absolutely no reacts.
