Week of Jim Golden: Day 3
So I did contact Jim’s place of employment.
Whether or not the institution takes action, we did, and that’s what matters.
I’ll post up the letter that I sent with his boss’s name redacted.
Meanwhile a couple of moments ago I found what he had written about me. Yay! I’ll post that up too.
Needless to say, it’s not particularly flattering.
I’m compared to Rush Limbaugh and other heinous figures in modern American popular media.
It doesn’t bother me. I would have been surprised if he had done anything different.
But what it does do oh, what he has accomplished, is amazing isn’t it!
We are galvanized. People who have it spoken up are speaking now!
We are geared up for Collective action if it’s necessary!
We circled as a community and held a woman of color gently and well which allowed her to speak up on Kate’s page. You should go see. I think you would be proud.
The injection, probably more accurately called infection, of Jim and Kate into our community for those brief moments cause more cohesion and unanimity and sense of community and bravery and resilience and Relentless reliability both in seasoned members as well as the new get the last couple months. I could never have done it this fast.
And for that we should thank them!
The best way to thank them is by keeping on doing what we’re doing: lessening the harm of brown and black people perpetuated by white people.
That will be our living thank you to Kate and Jim.
Most importantly for me though it made me consider in a very deep way my very own Praxis and how I walk with and Lead all of you.
Even when you know it’s untrue, there is always a little bit of a clench in your heart when someone calls you a charlatan or a cult leader.
Even though you know it’s untrue it makes for deep introspection to become truly a woman that is worth walking with.
Jim did not make me back down. He made me Double Down.
It made me want to walk with you in an even more integral way.
It made me think about 5 years and 10 years from now and who Jim will be and who I will be and what this community will be.
We will do what we need to do regarding Jim and Kate.
And we will not let this go, but we also need to remember who we are and why we are here and how the hold and succor and love each other.
The only way Jim and Kate win here is if we lose our Focus and we lose our ethos and we lose the reason we are here.
I love you all.
