Whether or not the Los Angeles Times meant for the words that are highlighted below to be ironic, or cynical, or snarky, at the end of the day they didn’t give one Hoot about how their language would land on people being affected. I think about my Japanese-American sisters and brothers reading that line. This it’s not from the Cold War; this is not five years later trying to justify what happened during World War II in America against people who helped build this country with Blood Sweat and Tears. This is a recent article. How it got past layers of editors and made it into print it’s beyond me. But then again, it isn’t. Even so-called Progressive papers Bend and distort the truth.

Here, queries. I really want you to think about this. What is the importance of critical analysis of the media and how they frame and present stories to the public? When was the first time, if there ever has been a time for you, when you discovered that you are getting at best incomplete information, and at worst distortions and outright lies, from the media, which went on to shape your overall perceptions on both of the narrative of this country, and your willingness to swallow The Narrative whole? Put another way, do you remember the first day that your eyes narrowed as you scanned the text?
