Not a lifetime.

A moment to regroup, not to wallow.

And then we re-find our voice.

To sing with resolve and effectiveness.

A moment.

A moment doubled over.

And then we double down.

A moment on our knees.

And then we find balm to bind

The wounds and calluses

Of OurSelves and of EachOther

To face and confront

The callousness and cravenness
Of our new world.

And then we

Get.

Up.

Calloused and blistered hands

Caressing EachOther’s

Anguished faces.

We offer EachOther bread for our rumbling bellies

And water for our parched lips and souls

And then…

And then…

We.

Keep.

Walking.

Together.
