I was going to write a one paragraph topper to this but I found myself writing an entire essay. I hope this clicks through so that you can see the whole thread, but I’ll take screenshots of the thread for the essay, meanwhile, try to get past her God talk and find her deeper point because it absolutely applies to social justice and racial Justice movements. People and organizations will fail you. I fail everyday. But that does not invalidate the import of the message I do my best to impart. I do my best to model good Praxis, but I fail every day at that too. That does not invalidate. We need to stop doing our best to find ways to be less than faithful in the things we say we care about, and find more ways to hold on to that faithfulness when it gets tough or when were disillusioned or discouraged or overwhelmed. For me, that’s a mark of my character. I have been disappointed by people within Christianity *for my entire formation*. I have been sorely disappointed by people within racial and social justice spaces. Neither of those things give me permission to walk back my convictions on either. I will confront more about this later. Meanwhile, read the thread.
