Introduction And Invitation To Kwanzaa

I want to share this with you, but before I do, I want to offer an apology.

This Introduction to Kwanzaa was meant to be the first of a total of eight videos and essays that I did about the subject last year as a companion to some other pieces I have done.

Because of some people being less than kind, and also as I was navigating the final months of my mother, I did not do that.

My Vow is to do that this year.

So I’m giving you the introduction to the Kwanzaa series and my commitment to you is to follow through on all seven principles.

And I think that these principles will serve us well as we go into the new year as a community.

I invite you, as you watch the series, to also think about the North Star and who we are as a community, and truly appreciate how much the Kwanza principles and our North Star dovetail.

I cannot wait to Embark upon 2023 with all of you.
