We have an update for you on services that are being planned to celebrate our leader Lace.

A memorial service will be held at Lace’s church, 

Vista La Mesa Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
4210 Massachusetts Avenue
La Mesa, California 91941

at 1pm Pacific Time, 
on Saturday, March 25, 2023

A Zoom link will be provided for those who wish to attend remotely.

Flowers may be sent to the church for those services if you feel so moved.

The Board intends to gather for our own celebration of our Executive Director and our Friend Lace directly afterward, at a location to be announced once we’ve firmed up those plans. We hope to open this up to our far-away community members via Zoom as well, and will keep you informed of our plans.

The Lace Watkins Memorial Fund continues to grow, for which we cannot thank you enough. It currently stands at a little over $3,000. The primary and near term goal for this fund is to defray the costs of Lace’s funeral arrangements that will be incurred by her family. Anything that remains will be reserved toward fulfilling Lace’s goal to endow a scholarship or grant of some sort. We’re not yet looking that far ahead in detail, but will continue to keep you aware of our plans for any contributions you choose to earmark for that fund. Finally, over the next few days we will be creating a memorial page on our website. This will let us give you a bookmarkable place to find information on the services planned, as well as let you leave a message to express how Lace, her life, her work, and her friendship have touched you, if you wish.
