We have good news to share.

We are almost halfway to our Basic Budget goal of $2000!

This is beyond exciting.

This means that, as a community, we are capable of sustainability.

That increase in small financial engagements, some as small as two dollars, really can add up to ensure the health and longevity of Lace on Race.

This amazing turn of events means that I can focus on good content, engaging with the community I love so much, deepening the archived content, researching and planning for the future with less of a burden about if we will survive.

This is a blessing and I thank you.

We would like to eventually go back to the Admin team doing very basic straightforward Asks. Toward that end, I am very gratified to those of you who have engaged without the prod of an Ask since we did the last one a couple weeks ago. This is a big deal.

But I don’t mind doing this one, because I can brag a bit! You all really came through. You don’t know what it means to see your faith in me and the Admin team, as well as your commitment to continue walking. We have so much faith that we added another Admin to partner with Marlise as she gets ready for her little one, and have made small (painfully small, but hopefully more as months go by and we can go beyond Basic Budget) reimbursements for all that they do on my, and your, behalf. It’s an insultingly small number. But I am bursting my buttons that we could finally do it.

I am grateful that we are turning a corner where the Ask feels less like a burden to you all, and more of an opportunity; where you are glad and, dare I say, enthusiastic about the very personal and visceral role you have the opportunity to play in co creating and co sustaining this space.

This is your space. Never forget that.

So, another Ask! This time with an ear to ear grin! Thank you for those who have already engaged this month; both Sustainers and a la carte alike.

I really think we can go beyond December. We here at headquarters (heh) are planning for that very thing.
