As I was interacting with community members underneath the hot take from yesterday, I started having some thoughts.

Specifically, about the trouble and pain that has deeply affected this community the last 18 months. I remember February of 2021, when a frontal assault was launched, and, with the exception of staff and leadership team was met with *absolute silence* by the thousands of people who consider themselves part of this space.

To this day, I wonder what might have happened if even a fraction of them (of you) had actually stood up and spoken when the harm, when the violence, was being perpetrated.

I spoke to this in the video; about all the down-low support I have received over the last 15 months, from people who themselves never spoke out publicly.

If this virtue, this skill, is not learned, it will not be applied in the outside non-internet world.
