I started it yesterday. I’m going to watch it twice. Once as is, and another time with a focused lens on racial dynamics and how they play out. The very fact that the protagonist is a white woman is important. The fact that the white woman got a book deal, while black and brown women would not have gotten that deal, and whose stories would *not* have garnered as much empathy is also in play. I’ll say more once I watch it; I started it last night.
Have you watched it? Would love to hear your thoughts.
