Believe me when I tell y’all that because if for no other reason than we know we rode y’all hard and put you away wet with the in depth posts of this weekend, that I was gonna put on my jammies, call it a day, and cut you all some slack.

But, welp.

Shoulda clicked on Hulu, but instead I just had to read this article from Slate; one of the most fecking candid teacher perspectives I have read so far. There’s a podcast if you want to listen along, but there is also an edited transcript, which I read with my Thai salad and Noosa yogurt, and where I got activated enough that I was shouting at my screen.

These teachers are truth tellers, none moreso than Brandon Hersey, a teacher in Washington State. Maybe it’s because he also sits on the Seattle School Board, but this man checked his pockets before the mic went live for the interview and found there were exactly zero fecks in his Banana Republic chinos. He speaks truth–particularly about the inherent racism in the idea of pandemic pods, and also about the lack of leadership that is hamstringing both teachers and parents.
