This is a quick but very pointed message.

Prohibition of deleting comments or responses is a non negotiable part of your being here.

It is violent. It is disrespectful. It is anathema to the ethos of this space.

It is theft.

It is erasure of history; a microcosm of what people have done for centuries; erased and mutated and distorted history for their own purposes.

It is never ok.

This is more than a practical issue. It is a moral one.

Your character is defined by who you are in this space.

From the Guidelines:

‘*No deleting. As much as we can, we try to make this space as much like a conversation as possible. That means owning your words much like you would if you were speaking them out loud. As well, no material editing that would change the meaning or intention of your posts. Editing for spelling, grammar or style is fine. Facebook reached 1074 of you, at the time of my writing this. 374 of you clicked through (a little over a quarter of those reached)

49 of you actually responded. Roughly 4 percent of those reached, and a little over 10 percent of those who clicked through.

On a post that clearly stressed that engagement was mandatory.

Welp.

What message are you all collectively sending?

As is often true here, sometimes the lessons are found in the comments, or rather, in this case, the lack of comments, even more so than the original post.
