Purpose and Power: Reflections from Inside the Classroom

“but rarely would I see professor advocate for these students or challenge their fellow instructors on their problematic, often racist, homophobic, and just dehumanizing practices and philosophies.”

In systems that wear us out, how do you follow the same pattern? How often do you/likely are you to relate to a victim position or associate yourself as marginalized in some way to avoid advocating and challenging the systems still being perpetuated?

As a white women, I know I am prone to “feeling the patriarchy” and using that as my reason for no agency, no action instead of recognizing how I am participating in that very system itself and its manifestation as White Supremacy.
