And before anybody gets too self righteous, including myself, and attempts to distance themselves from the horrific stories that are finally being told in the wake of ND’s ashes, let’s all take a moment of silence for the burial grounds and temples that are now the sites of Chik-fil-A’s and Walmarts *and our own homes, edifices of education, and offices*. That soccer field where you watch your child once was sacred too. They too would have had 800 year old histories had they been allowed to stand.
As well, a small moment of silence for African Plunder, which made its way into the palaces and cathedrals of Europe; the gold, the diamonds and other jewels….

Who is allowed legitimate grief; what feelings of loss are validated; whose mourning and keening is actually heard–all are functions of white supremacy.
Do not forget.
