Things that are frustrating/discouraging/insulting to Lace: A short, but by no means exhaustive, list.

1. Reading, or rather skimming, and leaving no commentary. I know post engagement stats. The Atlantic article has had, as of this writing, 238 engagements and 21 comments. The work is in the wrestling. Consuming mindlessly should not be on the menu.

2. Skipping past the featured post in favor of ‘easier’ posts, especially these days when I have made an extra effort, either in comments or in the post itself to remind us not to comment or use reaction emoji unless you have grappled with the featured post.

3. Saying you will come back to a post, and then ‘forgetting’ to.

All of these things are end runs around the work. It makes me wonder about commitment and ability for the group go go as deeply as will be needed as we grapple with new topics, and makes me feel that my efforts are fruitless.
