I removed the post about racist relatives; over 72 hearts and likes; only a tiny fraction of whom actually heeded the direction to read the posts.

It’s easy to mock racist relatives; less easy to see the embedded racism, insult, and entitlement that involves people who can do what they choose here while blithely ignoring a valid direction by the Black femme founder of this page.

Y’all are making my point about the necessity of a Reset far better than I ever could.

The main issue here is that the easier path was taken, and the directive was ignored, which is exactly what most white people do in their offline lives. This was painful to experience, particularly after the postings and the instructions of the last few days.

This is not the way to follow black women and take their lead, and if you’re doing it here, you can bet the farm that you’re doing it in your ‘real life’. Yes, everything is a lesson.

We need to do better, fam. This is harder than it needs to be. I am feeling some kind of way about how this went down. Taking the time to process this.
