Good article. Worth the read.

One quibble though: We didn’t just find our voices.

The media decided to listen, and then report. That’s a distinction worth noting.

As long as I have been walking, I have considered myself progressive, indeed have found my walk to be driven by a faith drenched in the radical.

It is worth discussion, this: that we of Moral Center (thanks Ryan Dowell Baum) have had our definitions foisted upon us.

And this as well-before Trump, there were Cone and Campolo and Kinnamon and Wangerin and Augsberger-and entire swaths of brown and black people with liberation thought and theology- and so many others, have never wavered. What a disservice to suggest that they did.

To say that a cohort has just only now found its voice visits violence to those, living and not who have all spoken truth to powers, even as the media ignored, silenced, distorted, even demonized the message.

But ya. Read it. And then continue your walk.

Even when, especially when, they stop looking.
