From Cherri Murphy:

Sermon for today. Thanks Jennifer Graham.

“….Please do not post another quote from Dr King on Monday if you are not willing step up and make noise. It means nothing if you don’t do your part.

Full sermonette:

Want to quote Dr King, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” -Martin Luther King Jr.

White friends and family It is time for you to take action like he did. Your allowance of this to happen again and again in front of you, only posting your comments of disgust does nothing and speaks volumes.

We are the only people privileged enough to sit by and do nothing while this unfolds. The other day a white male told me when Trump was elected he stopped watching the news. Can you imagine being able to not care what is happening to another human beings? We do not have the luxury of not speaking up. It’s not your job to make sure someone doesn’t feel uncomfortable. It’s your duty to stand for those being marginalized and treated inhumanly.

If you are a white woman and marched today you need to understand you cannot only march for yourselves. You must march for everyone. I see amazing WOC especially black women constantly using their voice and putting their bodies on the line not only for themselves but for us all. Do better. Get over being offended by this if you are and know you are needed.

The address and number are right there. I have already emailed and will call on Tuesday.

Please do not post another quote from Dr King on Monday if you are not willing step up and make noise. It means nothing if you don’t do your part.
