There is soooooo much going on here. Not a good look for anyone.

We need to begin what will be a difficult and fraught conversation regarding mental illness and neurodivergence and racism and white supremacy.

We will tread with care, because there are landmines inherent that can undermine safety and cohesion in this community we have all grown to love.

I don’t think I have said this before, but i think it warrants mention here: If you feel that you cannot stay the course with this conversation, I strongly suggest, again strongly suggest, that you do not engage, either with reading the article or engaging/reading commentary. I am assuming for all of you, those who engage as well as those who do not, that you have the self awareness to self monitor and self regulate, and to know how to manage any triggers or activations you may have, and that you remember our shared values and ethe as we write and read.

This is a big deal though. And as someone with not one, but two dogs in the hunt, this is an important issue to me.

I will tell my own story after homeless outreach, but I would suggest you read the story (embedded in the comments) and, again, if you have the spoons and the resilience/reliability/steadfastness to engage in community dialog, that you do so. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say.
