Riley Lennart, she of the 1 star review, whose talent is to do drive by snark, by coming in, being unkind, and then ghosting, reminded me that we are, as we spoke about last month, going to draft a set of guidelines for engagement.

I was loathe to do so, but the Rileys of the world make it necessary. I still have all your good suggestions. Will make a draft, and then post it up for commentary. The final version will be pinned to the top of the page.

I think we will call them ‘Agreements’, and, while no one has to lift their right hands and swear to them, affirmation of a core group of ways that we live together here will be helpful and strongly encouraged.

We have developed and curated a very special place here. Together, we can keep it that way!

I know you didn’t mean to be helpful, Riley, but you were! Thank you! Despite yourself, you moved the ball forward in this beloved community.

For those of you who did not get a chance to weigh in last month, feel free to post suggestions below. We will look at them all.
