Folks may think that this is a one-woman shop, but it so isn’t.

The women who advise, and encourage, and lovingly chide, and make sure I stay at least somewhat sane so I can love you all with reckless abandon, are affectionately called the Gaggle.

They are who I see when I metaphorically look behind me, cheering me on, offering me protein bars and orange slices, shouting my name till they’re hoarse, all so I can run this race with intention and integrity. There are none like them. They know I am grateful to and for them. Y’all should be too.

They are the ones who best know what I do behind the scenes here at LoR.

One of the things they worry about is when I go for periods of relative silence here on the Page; they (and I) worry that you all might think that we are dormant and inactive.

Welp. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In this last month, amazing opportunities have opened up for Lace on Race to do things we only dreamed of happening much later; speaking, writing articles and the like. Revisiting a training I devised a few years ago to share widely; putting forth our ideas in other groups.

And this: spreading the message of LoR to threads on Facebook where we share our singular message.

All of these things are done with you all strictly in mind. I look back and I see the Gaggle, I look forward, and I see all your faces. That is what I mean when I say ‘we’. This is not a solo enterprise, not one whit.

Later, hopefully tonight, I will drop two articles adapted from threads where I was active; both on issues we have discussed before–housing patterns and wage disparities. There are new people here at LoR because of these discussions, and I look forward to them joining in the conversations here.

So even when the Page is quiet, there is indeed work being done. That is one important aspect of my working with and for you here–to carry the message beyond these virtual walls.

I hope I do you all proud.

Thanks again to the Gaggle. To keep their confidentiality, I have not spilled their names. But they can! If any of them ‘out’ themselves in the comments here, thank them. They are as crucial and vital to this community as I am.

We would not be celebrating four months of LoR without them.

Love and honor to y’all. Love and honor.
