Wow. There are almost *too* many themes to pursue here.

Articles like this make my job both easier and harder. Easier, because it affirms pretty much everything I have been saying here at Lace on Race, as well as before 3 months ago.

Harder, because now that we have this amazing skeleton on which to hang *lots* of discussion, we are going to be doing deep dives.

Enriching and enduring–because this is why we are all here, right?–to do the deep unpacking that is necessary for sustainable and reliable change work.

I ask each of you to read, digest, and comment, in this format. As you feel led to write, place it under a specific header under which others can then put their thoughts, so it can have some kind of order, which i will then use as jumping off points.

Some headers could be ‘police’ ‘white spaces’ ‘modern day sundown town’ ‘regulated spaces’ ‘bias’ and the like. This list is by no means comprehensive. Feel free to use your own. The overall point is to make this as robust as possible.

I am inviting lurkers especially to participate. We need to hear your voices too. And also dissenting voices. I know not everyone in this space agrees with everything I write. Write *your* truth regarding all this. I only ask that you keep it clean (no below the belt ad hominem stuff) and that you ***do not delete*** if you feel like it’s going sideways.

Between likes, followers, and new additions to my personal page we are at 2000 people now. I think it is entirely reasonable to expect at least 200 responses.

People, you are here to learn to do the work with depth, intention, bravery, and courage.

Start here.
