Lace on Race; Lace on the ACE (Intergenerational Trauma)

Gonna watch this with an eye on intergenerational trauma. As the series creator says, the theme of the C-PTSD that comes from just being Black in America runs through the show.

The only place I disagree with Mr. Glover is that it’s not PTSD.

The ‘P’ in PTSD is for ‘Post’.

There is nothing ‘Post’ about the pain and trauma that African Americans still experience.

The correct (but not completely scientific; I’m coining it now) term would be ‘CCSD (Current Chronic Stress Disorder) Unremitting, With Acute Features’. For me, this more accurately reflects the dynamic and the real issues that come with systemic and institutional oppression.

If I think it warrants it, it will become a TV club at Lace on Race. We can dig deep.
