Hello fam–

Quick note.

What a month. Lace On Race just hit its five week mark on Sunday.

We now have over 800 followers, and 720 likes. That is simply amazing.

Now I have to ask myself ‘Just what am gonna do with all y’all?’

Well the first thing is to thank you. Thank you for walking with me.

The second thing is to work on two tracks–get us as a community to be where we do the work here and then take it outside. Imma gonna be loving *and* tough. There are lessons that must be acknowledged and internalized if we want to be the people we say we want to be.

The other track is to be a loving community whose members actively participate in the nurture of that. That means engagement, among other things.

I am not going to lead a group of 1000 spectators. That goes against my ethos that love is a verb and conviction has hands and feet.

If you are not changed, and crucially, *if the world is not changed because of you* what’s the point?

As we enter our second month, I feel a real responsibility to you. I hope you have seen that in the content I have written and shared and aggregated with you thus far.

But. But I don’t feel a responsibility *for* you. You have to do the self work with intention and resiliency. You have to trust that what I write and where I lead is considered and thoughtful, and that if I am asking you for something, that there is a real reason behind it. And you have to do the work. You are here because you found something compelling and relevant. That requires more of you, not less, in my view

Because these first weeks were overwhelming, and we had a couple funky people in here from another site, it did, it did throw me off my game a bit, in that I deviated from the plan I had when I started it. I am going back to that.

By the time this second month is over, hopefully you will know me as a real person. In fact, I am adding another tagline: ‘The Face of Lace’, so I can share some of my personal life that does not fit neatly into the other categories.

You will know why I have been, and will continue to ask for funding (hint–it’s more for your growth than for mine), you will know what I feel a integral walk looks like (for me and for you), and hopefully you will find the passion and commitment to make this walk a priority in your life.

There are plenty of places where you can check in, self-reinforce, get your Nutter Butter, and then go on your way, unchanged.

This is not that place.

The community you have chosen to stand with needs you, requires all of you to step with influence, power, and resolve.
